About Me
My name is Georgina Villanueva Jiménez. I am Mexican and I live in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico. I am an Actuary by profession and have always had a knack for teaching. I possess patience and proficiency in explaining concepts clearly.
For nearly 20 years, I worked in a financial company in sales and customer service, which was another form of teaching. In 2012, I completed a course to become an English teacher, followed by another in 2015. Since then, I have been teaching English to individuals, and occasionally through companies. Living in a tourist city with many foreigners, I also have the opportunity to teach Spanish, primarily to Americans and Canadians.
I adapted techniques learned from TESOL and TEFL courses to teach Spanish, always emphasizing the Linguistic skills (Listening & Reading comprehension, Oral & Written expression and interaction). And, of course, practice makes perfect! So, we PRACTICE, PRACTICE & PRACTICE!
In 2024, I completed a 50-hour online course and received a certificate in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language. This course equipped me with up-to-date strategies and tools to continue teaching my students in a fun and productive way.
