Nouns of Greek origin, ending in -ma, -ta, and -pa are generally masculine: el clima, el programa, el tema, el cometa, el planeta, el mapa. Homónimos: la radio means "radio," while el radio means "radius" or "radium." [ la radio — radio, short for la radiodifusión; but el radio, radius or radium ]
