My name is Charlie. I'm a social anthropologist, humanitarian worker, and English teacher from the beautiful Celtic region of Cornwall, England. I have lived in Chile, Guyana and France - so I speak English, Spanish and now French, as well as some Portuguese! I love travel, adventure and creative arts like photography and music. In Guyana, I created a non-profit organisation (NGO) called Voices GY (www.voicesgy.org) where we taught English to more than 250 refugees at a time! With my training, expertise, and feedback from other IELTS experts, I’ve created an IELTS preparation plan to help candidates make progress fast. My name is Jeff and I teach conversation, grammar, reading comprehension, writing, and SAT/ACT/SSAT/HSPT prep. From 1998 to April 2003, I lived in Taipei, Taiwan, teaching ESL and studyingMandarin. After leaving Taiwan, I moved on to Honolulu, where I again found employment as an ESL instructor. This stint was brief because of my desire to attend graduate school in San Francisco, where I studied Mandarin and began teaching test prep. For 16 years (2005-2021) I was the English Department Head at Elite Educational Institute, a test prep company. My duties included teaching the majority of the English classes and private lessons and training and managing all new instructors.

I am a friendly teacher who's led a colourful life, I have extensive experience in teaching IELTS speaking and have helped hundreds of students achieve their dream band. I also love to teach conversational classes and have loads of fun resources at hand to make your class really fun and interesting.
