10 falsos cognatos francês-português

A língua francesa assemelha-se muito à portuguesa, porém existem alguns falsos cognatos que fazem com que a comunicação possa ser imperfeita.

Aqui deixo-lhes alguns exemplos com a tradução em português:

Verbos

ex: J'attends le métro.

répondre - atender
ex: Tu n'as pas répondu au téléphone.

espérer - esperar (usado só no sentido de desejar)
ex: J'espère que Marc viendra à la fête.

Advérbios

depuis - desde
ex: Depuis la rentrée scolaire, elle n'a plus le temps de voir ses amis.

après - depois/após
ex: Après son accident, il a perdu la mémoire.

mais - mas
ex: Il m'invite au concert, mais je ne veux pas y aller.

Substantivos

lunettes (sempre no plural) - óculos
ex: Tes lunettes de soleil sont vraiment jolies.

garçon - menino
ex: Ce garçon est très gentil.

légende - lenda
ex: Connais-tu la légende du Loch Ness?

sous-titres - legenda
ex: Je vous recommande de voir des films sous-titrés.

J'espère que cette liste vous sera utile!

Merci et à bientôt, j'espère.

Having grown up in a multilingual environment, multilingualism has always been a part of my everyday life, and I've embraced this fully! On top of my native French and English, I'm fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Danish and can get by in quite a few other languages. I am passionate about language and teaching and know what it's like to be both a learner and a teacher. This gives me valuable insight and means I am patient and understanding of the many challenges that come with learning a new language. I'm also well-travelled and enjoy learning about new cultures. I enjoy helping people, be it with languages, tourist information or finding the right language book! Having studied Geography, Hispanic Studies and Translation at university, as well as having self-studied Linguistics means that I am knowledgeable about a variety of topics related to language and culture.
