New Feature Requests
7 年前Hi Verblingers!
My name is Gustav and I'm the CTO over here at Verbling. We're always working on making the platform better and would love to hear from you. This thread is meant to facilitate a discussion on new features you'd like to see on the Verbling Platform.
Remember, constructive feedback and suggestions only :)

1. Students can't rate a proof class after complete it. I think sometimes it's important too.
2. Be able to carry out level exams certified by Verbling (I see a future were the companies will trust in certifications or skills obtained through Verbling).
3. Improve the mobile application, It's terrible.
4. Congratulations for your work.
Here is a link explaining the new rating system that Verbling instituted several months ago. It explains how students now rate lessons:
Essentially, though, students are now prohibited from rating a 30 minute trial class because some students were abusing the system and giving really low ratings without actually truly taking any real lessons with a teacher, as a teacher can't really teach in a 30 minute trial lesson. The trial lesson is used by a lot of teachers to get to know the students' goals and create learning plans, for instance. Plus, some students were rating classes that they never actually scheduled or completed. Additionally, because of how some students were abusing the rating system, students can only rate a teacher, after a completed 1 hour lesson, if both the audio and/or video are working at 4 or above, so unless the audio or video quality is 4 or above, then students aren't able to rate teachers, as some students were blaming the teachers for technology difficulties that were completely out of teachers' control and therefore giving low ratings that were not reflective of true instructional skills.
Two suggestions:
One, can you edit/create an algorithm(s) to feature NEW teachers? I've been on this site for weeks and I have not had one booking! I browsed the list of teachers who you all feature on your website and and ALL OF THEM were teachers who had hundreds and hundreds of reviews. In other words, they were established teachers, not new.
Why not feature new teachers instead of or in addition to established teachers? Yes, I know, some people will say it's because newer teachers don't have reviews and your company may not know whether they are worthy of being featured because they haven't been "tested" yet, but how the heck will you know that if they aren't even given a chance?
Second, a strong competitor of yours has an option called "Instant Tutoring." If approved, after teaching 5 lessons, this allows a teacher to do "instant" tutoring. There are many students who don't really want to "book" a reservation, so it's useful to have an option like this for the student and the teacher.

I am happy to be on Verbling as a student but I miss a feature that I was using on another platform: the possibility to write some small text and having them corrected by other members of the community (not necessarily teachers).
It would be great to be able to write personal messages to other fellow students.
Please stop using the American flag as the symbol for English. If you're going to use a flag it would make more sense to use the English flag (St. George's Cross). Would you use a Brazilian flag to represent Portuguese? Better still, don't use a flag at all, as English is spoken in many countries, or allow teachers to specify whether they teach English English, or some regional variant, such as American English.
