Verbling in China

I am finding it very difficult - impossible, actually - to connect with China via Verbling. Is anybody experiencing the same issues?

It must be getting better now, as I see more Chinese people here - mostly learning English, but also more Chinese teachers of Mandarin :)

Are people in China interested in learning English? I thought they were, but I am finding it difficult to connect with Chinese people, at least from Spain, where I live. And, what about Spanish? Are people in China interested in learning Spanish?
