Chapada Diamantina /Bahia-BRAZIL
I will talk about my favorite place in the world. The name of my favorite place is Chapada Dimantina. This place is a region of Bahia state, in the Northeast of Brazil. I think Chapada Diamantina means Diamond Plateau in English. Chapada Diamantina is a nature reserve protected by Brazilian environmental laws.
I was born in Salvador, capital of Bahia. Chapada Diamantina is located 8 hours away from the capital of my hometown. My hometown is busy, very busy, but Chapada Diamantina isn’t, for that I love to spend my vacation there. I have been there many times, I can’t count on my fingers.
In my favorite place you can find many waterfalls, rivers, crystalline water rivers, florets, tropical weather, caves, planteaus, trees, long trails, animals, diamonds (but I never found any L) and some other things. In the colonial period the Portuguese extracted many diamonds from the Chapada Diamatina, so there is still a legend that you can find diamonds on the trails and rivers. Depending on which trail you want to take, you will need a guide. There is forest and there are many natural hazards.
For people who like tent camping, this is the ideal place. But if you don’t like that, it’s not a problem. There, you can find a hostel and simple house to rent or reserve. I particularly like both. Tent camping is cheaper then Hotel, but in the Hotel you will have more privacy and comfort. It also depends who you go with. It’s good to travel to there with friends, family, or as a couple. I never have been there by myself. But you can do that.
The food there is very healthy. People there sell many fruits and vegetarian food. Pizza is very common there. You can drink beer and local drinks.
