关于我
I have 2 language teaching master's degrees, in English teaching and in Foreign Language Acquisition. Using these, I gradually release language learning to you.
My lessons are targeted to your level and goals, are fun, simple, and no stress. To build your mastery and confidence in a relaxed and natural way, I provide constant encouragement and feedback on collocations, grammar, and pronunciation as we discuss current events or topics that interest you, .
My students say, for example: "Tana is the by far best teacher I found on Verbling. I've found so many good teachers here, but Tana beats them all. Super competent, super engaged, with a very strong culture about language and a true passion for teaching. A+++"
Most students are recommendations from current students,
and I have taught several of the same students for over 4 years on Verbling. They have progressed and reach higher speaking and professional goals continually. The takeway from this is that to improve, consistent practice is vital.
I speak advanced Spanish, French, Italian. Intermed German. Have taught in Europe, South America, Asia, Middle East, US.
Help w/tests, CVs, interviews, speeches, business terms, etc.
LESSON DURATION:
Academic hour, so lessons are 50 minutes long.
WHAT LESSONS DO FOR YOU:
It takes 100 to 200 hours of instruction to move up an English level, thus from A1 to A2 (90-100 hours), and at least 1,000 hours from A1 to C2.

Tana is a fantastic teacher.
Firstly, when it comes to pronunciation, she is the best teacher. Since I'm an avid fan of American music and I want to sing those songs, I was mad keen on practicing American English pronunciation. Thanks to that, my pronunciation was good enough to make myself understood in English. However, I had some subtle unnatural or incorrect intonation and I was struggling to remove it. I tried to work on it with several English teachers. They just told me " Your pronunciation is good! You don't have to
worry about that! " But Tana was different. She immediately found my pronunciation problems. Then, she broke down each sound so that I was able to understand. Moreover, if we needed, she pointed out my muscle movements on my face, throat and mouth, which created my bad habits in terms of pronunciation. That was amazing and my pronunciation is getting better and better.
Secondly, she is really good at correcting. Since I told her to strictly correct my English, she points out all of my mistakes that I make while I'm talking and corrects and upgrades them meticulously. This really helps me to improve my English because it is really hard to realize and correct subtle mistakes by myself.
Thirdly, she is a highly educated and sophisticated person. In my opinion, being a native speaker is not enough to be a good teacher. The knowledge and passion of the language is also important. In terms of that, she is perfect. I can learn how well-educated people talk. I can also learn the background and development of English, which helps me to understand the language better. For example, I asked her to explain an English poem. Despite me asking about it spontaneously, she explained to me the background of the culture, the biography of the poet, subtle nuances and connotations of each word, verse and a lot more. I felt as if I had taken a high school class in the US - but a private lesson. I was able to experience how native speakers learn English. That was invaluable for me.
I'm really happy that I can work on my English with such an amazing teacher!
