Don't Study All The Grammar
After 11 years teaching English and over 8,000 classes, it has become obvious that too many of my English students get frustrated because they try to study as much grammar or vocabulary as they can, especially those who have never mastered a foreign language before. In reality they are making their life a lot more difficult than it needs to be. Students should concentrate on key grammar points or the essential English grammar you need to work effectively in English. Studying all the tenses or complex vocabulary which isn't used much is not necessary. Really! A teacher should guide students focusing on the essential English they need to effectively and proficiently use English in everyday life. Teachers should make it as easy as possible so you spend less time, effort and money on your English or other language goals. You should be told and guided towards what you really MUST focus on thereby bypassing all or most of the non-essential grammar and vocabulary. I also believe that your language learning journey must be enjoyable and interesting thus you will be ever more motivated and driven to continue and this leads to big progress in a short time.
