Whats up with The English drama queen
Hello fellow students and tutors! I am excitedly entering the Verbling world of online teaching and have been a member for only a month, so after an entire month on this site and getting NO student bookings I was all but ready to shout "YO?! I'm over here waiting for ya'll" ...not to mention adding the Queen has arrived *huge cringing smile*
So what's a girl to do to get noticed? I'm hoping that some nice person seriously gives me the down-low on how to attract more students to my profile as I have no experience doing this freelance teaching/recruiting your "own" students (working for companies cripples you in this way). right now I'm at that stage of feeling defeated and motivated at the same time cause, on the one hand, I have the: I will not surrender part of me fighting and the other is saying: well ..well.. well... while twiddling thumbs in front of my Laptop. is this what it was like for all of you starting? how did you cope? and what in the world does one do to pay the bills in the meantime?
I have all this energy and passion waiting to spill out in class that I seriously am starting to feel sorry for my first student Because I will probably end up smothering them with love and devotion while they look on clueless thinking I came here for English not this! anyway I refuse to say anything further on that note before someone gets scared off before they even started so rant over... until next time xx P.s I hope everyone has a fantastic day teaching/learning and that for the rest of lurking in the teachers' lounge, the coffee is warm and strong! Bye for now - English Drama Queen
