Tongue Twisters in Spanish
One of my favorite exercises to learn a language are tongue twisters. It doesn't really matter if you are beginner or advanced, when you practice these exercises, you are training your brain and stimulating it with different sounds.
It is something more complicated than just saying similar words in a sentence.
Actually, a team of scientists of the University of California, San Francisco have discovered the way in which neuronal activity works to formulate speech sounds.
They found that the brain coordinates the joint according to the muscles that need to be moved.
Tongue twisters are difficult because the brain confuses the sounds that form in different parts of the tongue.
Here I share with you some of my favorite tongue twisters in spanish, have fun!
- El volcán de parangaricutirimícuaro se quiere desparangaricutiriguarizar, y él que lo desparangaricutiricuarizare será un buen desparangaricutirimizador.
- Pepe Pecas pica papas con un pico,
con un pico pica papas Pepe Pecas.
Si Pepe Pecas pica papas con un pico,
¿dónde está el pico con que Pepe Pecas pica papas?
- Cuando cuentes cuentos,
cuenta cuantos cuentos cuentas;
porque si no cuentas
cuantos cuentos cuentas,
nunca sabrás cuantos
cuentos sabes contar.
- Me han dicho que has dicho un dicho que he dicho yo, y ese dicho que han dicho que yo he dicho no lo he dicho.
Mas, si yo lo hubiera dicho, estaría muy bien dicho por haberlo dicho yo.
- Tres tristes tigres, tragaban trigo en un trigal en tres tristes trastos.
